On April 2nd 2009 I had the unusual experience of opening The Stage to see my name featured on the obituaries page (with another Laurence just above it!)  Doubtless many of my acquaintances were disappointed to read further and discover it referred to my namesake, the noted actor and novelist.  Here's a larger version of the article.  R.I.P.
